About Us
Established in 1986 Alexander Street Co-op is a non-profit, self-governed, 56 unit Co-operative Housing society located in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver.
We are situated on Alexander Street between Heatley and Princess, close to bus stops on Powell, Caral and Hastings to get you anywhere you need to go. Alexander Street is part of a major bike route that will take you downtown within minutes, or deeper into East Van to explore the many restaurants, breweries and thriving Arts community. With Modo bikes across the street from the co-op and EVO car share being plentiful, getting around is easy and affordable.
Within walking distance are affordable stores to get groceries and other essentials, cool restaurants, pubs and music venues like The Heatley – a staple within the Strathcona & DTES neighbourhood. There are many parks and coffee shops to enjoy as well!
